One of the most important events for the agricultural sector is approaching: EIMA International, International Exhibition of Agricultural and Gardening Machinery, an event that over the years has become an essential event for all companies within the agriculture industry.
Due to the health emergency, the 44th physical edition of EIMA International has been postponed to 3/7 February 2021, but on the dates previously set for the event, from 11 to 15 November 2020, a special digital edition will take place: EIMA Digital Preview. There will be many news and ongoing projects for this edition of EIMA 2020-2021: discover them in this article!
The long history of EIMA
This italian event has a history that has lasted for decades: the first edition of EIMA was held in 1969, on the initiative of its main organizer, FederUnaComa (National Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers). Year after year, EIMA has evolved and grown in the number of exhibitors, visitors and participating countries.
Today, EIMA is an event awaited by all agricultural machinery manufacturers, from any country in the world. In an area of 375 thousand square meters approximately, in the Bologna exhibition center, exhibitors will present their means and equipment, often characterized and united by cutting-edge techniques and technologies.
The last edition, held in 2018, recorded extraordinary numbers that confirmed the growth trend of the event. There were around 317,000 visitors, for more than 1,950 exhibitors from 150 countries (and over 50,000 foreign operators).
The innovation: EIMA Digital Preview from 11 to 15 November 2020
The digital fair will take place on a specially created online platform, where visitors can register and access for free to virtually visit and contact all the two thousand exhibiting companies, as per tradition. In the digital space it will be possible to know the products offered by the companies and get an appointment to make virtual guided tours. In addition, a lot of space will be dedicated to numerous training and meeting activities and events.
The exhibiting companies will be organized in 14 planets, each representing the product sectors with which EIMA International is traditionally divided. Each company will have a virtual room where it will be possible to view videos, discover product news, browse catalogs and communicate with the company team via instant chat.
There will also be the Agorà, hub of collective meetings and training in which focuses, seminars, events and live shows will take place - available live or in on demand mode - and a virtual headquarters of the EIMA and FederUnacoma staff available 24 hours a day for every need.
The platform will be available starting at 9 am on November 11th and continuously until midnight on November 15th.
The tradition: EIMA International from 3 to 7 February 2021
EIMA 2020-2021 will not give up a new physical edition, with a program full of events and initiatives. The exhibition organization will maintain a plan already adopted, organized into 14 product sectors (including those relating to irrigation, harvesting, agricultural industries, livestock and many others) which will host the respective reference companies.
This year there will be five thematic areas, each of which will focus on a particular aspect of the agricultural industry. These Theme Salons will be:
- EIMA Green, which will put its focus on mechanical technologies and equipment for gardening and green space care. Inside, innovative tools for the maintenance of gardens, parks and sports facilities will be exhibited.
- EIMA Components, a trade show specialized in the agricultural components sector that will bring together more than 700 exhibitors of supplies, spare parts and accessories for each type of agricultural machine.
- EIMA Energy, exhibition dedicated to technologies for the use of energy sources of agricultural and forestry origin. In addition, this exhibition will also include an outdoor area for demonstration tests of new generation machines and systems.
- EIMA Idrotech, focused on technologies and systems for irrigation and water management.
- EIMA Digital, area specifically reserved for the most advanced electronic technologies and precision agriculture.
Among the interesting initiatives promoted by the event also the Technical Innovation Contest, aimed at rewarding and enhancing the innovative products offered by the industry in the service of agricultural and gardening activities.
Mecmar could not miss these important appointments. Innovation, the founding core of EIMA 2020-2021, is also one of the values that move the company since its origins: for this reason, from 11 to 15 November and from 3 to 7 February 2021, the Mecmar team will participate first in the digital edition EIMA Digital Preview, then in the traditional fair to be held in the Bologna exhibition center, and will present its solutions for drying and roasting of cereals.
